President Iliana Yotova, who is also a candidate in today's election, urged people to vote. She spoke to reporters after voting day ended.

Yotova said it is an illusion that people can change anything in Bulgaria by staying away from the polls.

She said Bulgaria must change a lot in the coming years so it does not slide back into the "years of stagnation", when many gains were missed. She added that the country will have its own prosperity.

Yotova promised the campaign will stay positive. She said she wants to be a president of peace.
