Prime minister Rumen Radev met British historian and writer Prof Bettany Hughes to discuss how new documentaries could bring Bulgaria's historical heritage to more viewers. The meeting was held at the Council of Ministers, the government press office said.

Tourism minister Ilin Dimitrov also took part in the talks.

Hughes is a historian who presents TV programmes and writes books. She made two popular-history films on Bulgaria's cultural and historical heritage: "Treasures of Bulgaria" and "Bulgaria: Land of Roses". Both have been shown on themed TV channels around the world.

Radev said Bulgaria has many more interesting places and historical figures through which the world can learn more about its place in the development of European civilisation.

Tonight Prof Hughes will meet the public in the conference hall of the InterContinental hotel in Sofia. She will present her book "The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" and the film "Bulgaria: Land of Roses", the publisher Knigomania said.
