Prosecutors in Dobrich have begun voting for four representatives on the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) from the professional quota, prosecutor Daniel Iliev, chair of polling section No. 8, said.

Iliev said 24 prosecutors can vote and there are 25 candidates. The polling section is in the Courthouse, in the part used by the regional prosecutor's office. Iliev was the first to vote.

Voting began normally. The ballot papers, stamps, ballot box and all other documents are in place, and video surveillance is working. When voting ends, the ballots will be counted in front of the cameras. Officials will check which are valid and draw up a protocol with the results. BTA will stream all three steps live.

At a general assembly of prosecutors on 17 October, the candidates presented their programmes and answered questions from colleagues.

SJC members are chosen from quotas for parliament, judges, prosecutors and investigators. Judges will hold their general assembly on 31 October and vote on 7 November. Investigators will meet on 14 November and vote on 21 November.
