The general assembly of prosecutors, which elects the prosecutors' members of the new Supreme Judicial Council, started an hour late today. The first head count found no quorum, BTA reported.
Today the assembly will pick a chair and members of an election commission. It must also set up polling stations and hear the candidates from the prosecutors' quota, 25 in all.
The Supreme Judicial Council has adopted a timetable that sets out how the vote will run.
Magistrates will vote next Saturday, 24 October, to decide which of the nominated prosecutors join the new council.
