Wind turbines produced 14.8% of Europe's electricity over the past 24 hours, and in Bulgaria the figure was 9%, according to a bulletin published today by the WindEurope Power Numbers platform.
Onshore wind farms generated 972 gigawatt-hours, or 13.6% of all electricity. Offshore turbines added another 81 GWh, or 1.2% of the total.
Sweden got the biggest share of its power from wind, at 56.2%, followed by Romania with 50.7% and Finland with 48.7%.
Sweden also led in the amount of energy produced, with 185 gigawatt-hours, followed by Germany with 175.8 GWh and Spain with 114.4 GWh. Bulgaria's wind turbines produced 6.8 gigawatt-hours over the same 24 hours.
