The European Commission says there are no supply problems for oil and oil products anywhere in the EU, even though diesel and jet fuel prices have jumped sharply.
EU refineries are responding well to market signals and are running near full capacity to boost supply, the Commission says.
Diesel and jet fuel prices have risen because less crude oil is reaching the world market as a result of the conflict in the Middle East, it says.
The Commission set out its position after the EU's oil coordination group met today, where member states share data on fuel supplies.
