Wind farms produced 28.1% of Europe's electricity in the past 24 hours, according to today's bulletin from the WindEurope Power Numbers platform.

Onshore turbines supplied 24% of the power, or 1,780 gigawatt hours. Offshore wind farms supplied 4.1%, or 302 gigawatt hours.

Wind made up the biggest share of power in Denmark at 104.5%, followed by Lithuania at 76% and Germany at 53%. Germany generated the most wind power, at 718.2 gigawatt hours, ahead of Spain with 241.4 and France with 227.7.

In Bulgaria, wind gave 1.9% of electricity over the same period, or 1.5 gigawatt hours.
