Wind farms met 21.2% of Europe's electricity demand over the past 24 hours, but in Bulgaria the figure was just 5.5%, according to the daily bulletin from WindEurope Power Numbers.

Onshore turbines made 18.1% of all of Europe's electricity, or 1,381 gigawatt-hours. Offshore wind farms added another 3.1%, or 232 gigawatt-hours.

Montenegro got the biggest share of its power from wind, at 204.3%, followed by Denmark at 98.3% and Greece at 60.8%.

By output, Greece also came out on top with 457.1 gigawatt-hours, ahead of France with 155.6 and Spain with 149 gigawatt-hours.

Bulgaria's wind farms produced 5 gigawatt-hours over the same period.
