The government approved an additional €2,208,374 for the budget of the Ministry of Youth and Sports for this year. The funds will cover projects already approved under the Program for Financing Youth Centers in Bulgaria for the 2026–2028 period, the government's information service announced.

The program's goal is to provide long-term funding for youth centers so that young people have equal opportunities, whether they live in a big city or a small village. Priorities include young people from vulnerable groups and smaller settlements, as well as promoting volunteering, youth initiatives and social entrepreneurship. The activities target people between the ages of 15 and 29.

The government believes this approach will help build a unified, consistent and sustainable youth policy. It relies on cooperation between different sectors and joint governance with young people at the national, regional, district and municipal levels.

Over €1 million has been earmarked for youth activities alone in this year's budget plan, said Minister of Youth and Sports Encho Keryazov. He made the statement during the second reading of the country's draft 2026 budget in late July.
