Ivaylovgrad council approves free lunches for 22 pupils this school year

Mayor Diana Ovcharova made the proposal, and officials said earlier today that councillors would vote on it. In her report to the council, the mayor says the money is set aside in the municipal budget.

The draft agenda had seven items. At their sixth regular meeting, 12 councillors approved eight, after an analysis of the personal development needs of children and pupils in the municipality was added as an extra topic for discussion.

Councillors approved market valuations and decisions on public sales of land plots and on leases. The item on managing municipal property had 23 sub-items. One was dropped and seven were added later.

They also approved a change to the 2026 list of capital spending. It includes rebuilding a football pitch at a stadium in Ivaylovgrad and farm equipment for the "Volunteer disaster protection units" programme, worth €7,500, paid for with European Union money.

Councillors extended the repayment period for a short-term loan taken out to carry out projects. They also voted on spending for an extra payment to the manager of the municipal company Armira – Ivaylovgrad EOOD.
