Firefighters across Bulgaria put out 169 fires in the past 24 hours, and two people were injured. The figures come from the Fire Safety and Population Protection Directorate and are as of 6:00 am.
27 of the fires caused direct property damage: nine were in homes, eight in vehicles, five in outbuildings, temporary or makeshift structures, and the rest were of other types.
142 fires caused no damage, and 99 of them were in dry grass, forest litter and bushes.
Crews also answered 224 calls about incidents. They carried out 42 rescue and assistance operations, and 13 of the calls were false alarms.
