Fire crews across Bulgaria put out 115 fires in the past 24 hours, with one person hurt, the interior ministry's fire safety department says. The figures are posted on the department's website. Crews responded to 151 emergency calls in total.
Sixteen of the fires caused direct damage. Four broke out in homes, five in vehicles, and two in sheds, outbuildings or makeshift structures.
The other 99 fires caused no damage. Dry grass, forest litter and bushes burned in 62 of them, rubbish in 29, and one broke out in a stubble field.
Crews also carried out 29 rescue and support operations, two of them after vehicle crashes. In some cases, firefighters helped injured people and backed up other emergency services and agencies.
There were seven false alarms over the 24-hour period.
