The trading turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) reached nearly 617 million euros as of September 18 this year, the exchange announced on its website. This amount has already surpassed the total result for the whole of 2025, which stood at 611 million euros. According to BSE data, the number of concluded transactions is also increasing, up by approximately 30 percent compared to the same period last year.

The exchange's main index, SOFIX, is also showing steady growth. Since the beginning of this year, it has risen by 26 percent, following a 30 percent increase in 2025. In August of this year, the blue-chip index registered its highest value since January 2008.

The BSE cites several factors behind these results. The primary drivers are Bulgaria's full membership in the eurozone since the beginning of the year and the upgraded rating of the Bulgarian capital market granted by the international company MSCI. They further add that signs of growth have been observable since 2024.

As additional reasons for the market's development, the exchange points to the creation of the EuroBridge dual-listing platform, where shares of the company "Shelly" are traded, as well as the launch of the largest bond issue on the exchange – that of "Eurohold". The growing recognition of a number of Bulgarian public companies and a more favorable investment environment in Europe are also having an impact.

BSE data also indicates increased interest from new individual investors – their number grew nearly 10-fold by the end of 2025, reaching 18,000 people.

BTA reminds that in early September, SOFIX crossed the 1420-point threshold for the first time since February 2008.
