Bulgaria's innovation and digital transformation ministry has launched a new tool called "E-gishe" ("e-counter"), listing government services people can now do online instead of standing in line. The ministry announced it on its official Viber channel.
The first six services cover the October 25 presidential and vice-presidential vote. People can apply online to register at their current address for voting or to request a mobile ballot box. They can also apply to be added to the voter list or to fix mistakes and gaps in it. Voters can apply online to be taken off the list of struck-off voters too, including those who had asked to vote from abroad.
All these requests go through the e-government portal eGov.bg, under "Civil Rights and Legal Order/Elections". The portal brings together all the online services open to citizens and private individuals.
With the new tool, the ministry is running a campaign to show that government services can be fast, simple and convenient.
