Prosecutors have asked for a European arrest warrant for two people charged over the arson attack on Starlink antennas. Sofia City Court will consider the request, its press office said, without giving a date or time for the hearing.
Ivaylo Mirchev, co-chair of Yes, Bulgaria, which is part of Democratic Bulgaria, was the first to report the arson a week ago.
Asked by the BTA news agency a few days ago, Lyubomir Nikolov, acting chief secretary of the interior ministry and a chief commissioner, said there were suspects.
MPs also discussed the case at a hearing in parliament. Prime minister Rumen Radev said the investigation was under way and would produce results.
Interior minister Ivan Demerdzhiev said interior ministry units had taken extra steps to guard such sites across Bulgaria. He said their owners are responsible for protecting them.
