There are no talks on moving part of the second-pillar pension contribution to the state social insurance system, labour and social policy minister Natalia Efremova said before the "Europe is With Me" forum.

She also said the maximum insurable income will be €2,400 and the minimum wage for 2027 will be €660. The minimum insurable income is the same as the minimum wage. The forum is part of the ministry's "Human Resources Development" programme.

She spoke after reports of a change to the second pillar. On Tuesday the Finance Ministry denied them and called them disinformation. Earlier that day, the party "We Continue the Change" said it would call for protests if the government proposed sending half of the second-pillar contribution to the National Social Security Institute.

Efremova said the ruling parties are indeed talking to the pension companies. The talks are about how to guarantee pensions and how to get higher returns. She said they cover better investments and public-private partnerships.

The budget gap will be covered with more revenue measures and more checks, the minister said. Raising the minimum and maximum limits brings in more money for state social insurance, but it will not be enough to close the deficit.

In some sectors, the minimum insurable income is a little higher. When it goes up, the ratio to the average insurable income reached is taken into account, Efremova said.

Pensions will rise under the so-called Swiss rule. Maternity benefit in the second year is planned to go up from €398 to €450, and from 50% to 75% for mothers who return to work in the first or second year.

Measures against fake TELK (disability commission) rulings are also coming.
