MPs from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) have asked parliament to hear three ministers — interior minister Ivan Demerdzhiev, deputy prime minister and finance minister Galab Donev, and regional development minister Ivan Shishkov — the party's press office said. See our original report: Peevski: I'll quit as DPS leader if 36 invoices for my flights turn out to be real.

DPS wants Demerdzhiev to explain his claims about flights taken by party leader Delyan Peevski, and a possible link between guardrail companies and payments for those flights. The party's statement quotes Demerdzhiev as saying: "36 invoices for 36 flights worth 5 million levs."

Donev must explain the "magic formula" that saw millions paid to a guardrail company. Shishkov must say whether the former head of Avtomagistrali was pressured into fitting guardrails with no contract in place, and whether that was why he resigned.

DPS MP Hamid Hamid said last week that the party had filed a complaint with the prosecution. It concerns the supply and fitting of guardrails. The complaint also covers reports of links between an adviser to president Rumen Radev and a company that holds a monopoly on supplying guardrails for Bulgaria's roads.
