Users will be able to track a full monthly report for all appliances in their own property and for the entire building simultaneously and on the same day. This convenience is part of the transition to remote reading which, according to EVN, is not just a legal obligation but also offers a range of other benefits. The implementation of the system removes the need for meter readers to visit homes, eliminates balancing bills, and prevents estimated billing in cases where access is not provided.

Currently, over 93 percent of EVN Toplifikacia users in Plovdiv are already using upgraded appliances for remote reading, the company announced. These changes are accelerating because, as of January 1, 2027, legislation requires all appliances for the proportional distribution of thermal energy in buildings—including heat meters, domestic hot water meters, and individual distribution devices—to function via remote reading. To ensure a smooth transition, specialists advise that replacements be completed before the start of the 2026/27 heating season.

The legislative requirement for mandatory remote meter reading will also affect households in Burgas and the region.

To understand exactly how the appliance replacement is carried out, as well as the terms and procedures involved, each client must contact the distributor chosen for their building for proportional distribution. It is important to note that every appliance must be type-approved by the respective distributor.
