Firefighters put out 126 fires across Bulgaria in the past 24 hours, and one person died. The figures come from the website of the fire safety and civil protection directorate. Crews responded to 166 calls in total over the period.
Of the fires, 22 caused direct damage — 9 in homes and 7 in vehicles. The other 104 left no damage.
Firefighters also took part in 36 rescue and support operations. Four of the calls turned out to be false alarms.
