Over the past 24 hours, firefighters in Bulgaria have tackled 154 fires, in which one person was injured. The data comes from the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Civil Protection" at the Ministry of Interior and is current as of 6:00 a.m. this morning.
Crews responded to a total of 189 call-outs.
Damage was reported from 30 fires. Most — 11 — broke out in residential buildings, while 6 each occurred in auxiliary, temporary or flimsy structures and in vehicles. One fire each broke out in a forest area and in farmland.
The remaining 124 fires caused no damage. Of these, 77 were in dry grass, forest litter and shrubs, while 36 involved waste. Four fires burned in stubble fields.
Fire crews also took part in 29 rescue operations — one following a road traffic accident, while the other 27 involved technical assistance provided together with other agencies or to people in various emergency situations.
There were also 6 false alarms over the past 24 hours.
