DPS is launching a national campaign called "Shield for the People" against bad governance and corruption, the party's press office said. MPs, mayors and local councillors will take part, and party leader Delyan Peevski started the campaign.
Peevski told reporters in the parliament lobby that DPS will propose spending the billions set aside to fill budget gaps on defence, public safety, energy compensation and payments to offset soaring food prices. He said this a week ago.

Today in Sofia he spoke to the general assembly of the Tolerance association of municipalities. The DPS press office said the aim is for public money and resources to reach people without corruption, abuse, opaque contracts or poor-quality work.
Peevski claims that in 2026, which is now ending, the state was handed to a political force that came together by chance around the former president and his circle. "The clear majority, which should bring stability, instead shows signs of authoritarianism, without the competence and responsibility that such parliamentary weight demands," he said.
The DPS leader says Bulgaria is at the bottom of every European ranking of national well-being because of insecurity, fear of growing poverty and a jump in the prices of goods, services, fuel and energy.
In a declaration, the party says it opposes cuts in state and municipal administration made for their own sake. The document says such cuts violate rights and make services cost more for citizens, because tasks are handed to outside firms close to those in power.
