There are 2,142 post offices across Bulgaria taking applications for winter heating aid for the 2026-2027 season, Bulgarian Posts says.

The company says applications for the service rose 27% in August and September 2026 compared with the same two months in 2025.

Post offices also handle 76 administrative services for the Social Assistance Agency, the Employment Agency and the National Social Security Institute. A list of these services and the offices that offer them is on the Bulgarian Posts website.

Under a government decision, people and families with no income who heat their homes with solid fuel will get the full amount of 321.95 euros in one payment. Officials expect this to apply to at least 20,000 people and families.
