Police in Ivaylovgrad pulled over a 53-year-old man driving a Citroën — his breath test showed a blood alcohol level of 3.00 per mille.

The stop was part of a campaign by the Haskovo Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry, carried out on roads across the region between September 14 and 20. Over the course of the week, police recorded a total of 943 violations.

Officers issued 87 citations and 848 tickets. Among the drivers stopped were 7 without a license and another 7 caught with blood alcohol levels above 1.2 per mille. One driver was also found driving under the influence of drugs.
