Bulgaria's export prices rose faster than import prices in the second quarter of 2026, preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute show. The export price index stood at 109.2%, while the import price index came in at 105.6%.

Compared with the same quarter of 2025, the export index climbed 11.1 percentage points and the import index rose 5.1 points.

Three months earlier the picture looked different. The export index reached 104.3%, up 2.7 points on the first quarter of 2025, while the import index stood at 103.7%, up 2.9 points.

Under the Standard International Trade Classification, oil and refined oil products saw the sharpest rise in export prices. Natural and industrial gas exports saw the biggest price drop.

Oil and refined oil products also led the rise among imports. Coffee, tea, cocoa, spices and related products were the cheapest imports compared with a year earlier.

Final figures for all of 2025 put the export price index at 100.6%, up 4.6 percentage points on 2024. The import price index for 2025 stood at 101.1%, up 3.9 points on the year before.
