Night temperatures in Bulgaria in November will range from minus 7C to minus 2C, and daytime highs will reach 20C to 25C, said forecaster Anastasia Kirilova of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. On the Black Sea coast, lows will range from 2C to minus 5C.

Kirilova said the average temperature for the month will be near or below normal, while rainfall will be near or above normal. In northern Bulgaria and the Upper Thracian Plain, the normal average temperature is 5C to 8C. In the high fields it is 3C to 6C, and on the Black Sea coast and in the Struma valley it is 8C to 10C. In the mountains, the norm is minus 5C to 3C.

Normal rainfall for the month is 40 to 70 litres per square metre in most of the country. In the south and in the mountains, it is 60 to 90 litres.

The start of the month will be fairly cold, mostly cloudy and wet. Right at the start, rain in the high fields and low mountain areas of western Bulgaria will be mixed with snow or turn to snow.

Most days in the second ten-day period will be colder than usual. Until about the middle of the period, skies will be mostly cloudy and the precipitation will mostly be rain. After that, the chance of rain will fall and temperatures will rise from the days before. Lowlands and valleys will be cloudy and foggy, while over the mountains the clouds will break up and thin out.

In the third ten-day period, the chance of rain is small and temperatures will be close to the seasonal norm. Before noon, the plains will be cloudy and foggy. Around and after noon there will be some sunny spells, and the mountains will be mostly sunny.

November is a transition month between autumn and winter. At night the ground cools sharply, cloudy and foggy days become more common, and calm autumn days become fewer. Weather activity picks up, Arctic air reaches the Balkan Peninsula more often, and snow often falls. But warm air from the Mediterranean has pushed temperatures to 27C–30C, and sunny, warm spells in November are called "Gypsy (poor man's) summer".

In Sofia on 1 November, the sun rises at 7:00am and sets at 5:20pm, and the day lasts 10 hours 20 minutes. At the end of the month, sunrise is at 7:36am, sunset at 4:54pm, and the day lasts 9 hours 18 minutes. The moon is in its last quarter on 1 November, with a new moon on 9 November, first quarter on 17 November and a full moon on 24 November.
