Police forced a 27-year-old man from Svilengrad to stop after he refused to pull over his Mercedes for a patrol, officers from the Haskovo regional police department say. Instead of stopping for a check, the driver put his foot on the gas.

When officers searched the car, they found canisters of laughing gas inside. Police say both men had been using the gas — the 27-year-old driver and his 20-year-old passenger.

The man behind the wheel has been detained; police have not said for how long.
