The DPS party has asked prosecutors to investigate how crash barriers are supplied and installed on roads across Bulgaria. Hamid Hamid of the DPS said the move follows reports that an advisor to Prime Minister Rumen Radev has links to a company that holds a monopoly in the sector.
Hamid said officials must check how contract price adjustments are handled. He questioned the method used by the government, asking: „Why does the price of these contracts jump by more than 160% after the cabinet adopts the „Gulab Donev – 1“ method?“.
The politician asked prosecutors to find out the relationship between Radev's advisor and the crash barrier maker. Hamid pointed to the advisor's frequent visits to a hunting estate near Devin and stays at the Persenk Hotel in Devin. He said the hotel is owned by Jupiter 05, a company that dominates the making, supply, and installation of crash barriers, and that its owner is Niki Mantinelata.
