A delegation from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) met representatives of Turkey's İYİ Parti (Good Party) in Izmir. They discussed relations between Bulgaria and Turkey, political dialogue between the two countries and ways to expand cooperation, DPS's press office said.
The Bulgarian delegation included DPS deputy chairs Halil Letifov and Erol Myumyun, deputy speaker of parliament Ayten Sabri, and Nida Ahmedov, mayor of Kaolinovo and DPS deputy chair. Also taking part were Mehmed Ataman, the party's regional chair in Haskovo, Abdurahim Nursoy, head of Balgoch, and Bahtiyar Shen, DPS's representative for Izmir.
On the Turkish side, lawyer Ali Topçu took part. He sits on İYİ Parti's General Administrative Council in its 7th term.
The Izmir meeting came days after DPS representatives talked with Numan Kurtulmuş, speaker of the Turkish parliament, in Ankara. DPS said the two sides had discussed ways to deepen relations between Bulgaria and Turkey through active political and institutional dialogue.
