The national carrier "Bulgaria Air" has taken fourth place in Eastern Europe according to the 2026 World Airline Awards. The information, published on the website of the international organization Skytrax, shows that the Bulgarian company has entered the region's elite top five, achieving a significant jump compared to its 2025 results.
The ranking is determined by passenger ratings from various countries and markets, with a focus on the overall travel experience. The evaluation process covers critical elements, including the quality of onboard and airport service, cabin comfort, crew attitude, and the general quality of the services provided.
In Eastern Europe, the top spot belongs to Latvia's "AirBaltic". Following it in the top 5 are "Air Serbia", "Georgian Airways", and the Romanian national carrier "TAROM".
On the global stage for 2026, the best airline is "Singapore Airlines", leading ahead of "Qatar Airways" and "Cathay Pacific", which took second and third place respectively.
The Turkish company "Turkish Airlines" ranks first for the entire European continent. Other notable carriers in Europe include "AirFrance" — also named the best carrier for Western Europe — as well as "Lufthansa" and "Iberia".
The regional leaders around the world are distributed as follows:
- Middle East: "Qatar Airways";
- North America: "Air Canada";
- South America: "Latam";
- Central America and the Caribbean: "Copa Airlines".
