Police in Haskovo had received 13 bomb threats by noon, sent by email to institutions and schools across the region, the regional interior ministry office says.

The threats targeted four schools in Haskovo and three in Dimitrovgrad, as well as schools in Merichleri, the village of Ivanovo (Harmanli municipality) and the village of Radievo (Dimitrovgrad municipality). Threats also reached kindergartens in Ivaylovgrad and in the village of Chernogorovo, Dimitrovgrad municipality.

The Haskovo courthouse was also targeted. Checks began at all the buildings right away under standard procedure, and outsiders were barred from entering. Each school and institution is deciding on its own whether to carry on with classes and work.

Kindergartens, schools and institutions in Sofia got bomb threats the same day. Threats were also reported in Burgas, Shumen, Lovech and Razgrad.
