Earlier, the Haskovo police press office said checks began at once, under an approved protocol, and that no outsiders were let in. The heads of the institutions and schools decide whether work and classes continue.
The first reports yesterday spoke of bomb threats in both towns. They targeted institutions and schools in the region.
By noon, reports put the number at 13 threats sent by email, but across the whole Haskovo region, not just the two towns. Four schools in Haskovo and three in Dimitrovgrad were also mentioned at that point.
The first reports also named schools in Merichleri, in the village of Ivanovo (Harmanli municipality) and in the village of Radievo (Dimitrovgrad municipality). They also listed kindergartens in Ivaylovgrad and in the village of Chernogorovo (Dimitrovgrad municipality), as well as the Courthouse in Haskovo.
The same day, there were also reports of threats in Burgas, Shumen, Lovech and Razgrad, and in Sofia against kindergartens, schools and institutions.
