A road maintenance worker was killed in a crash at the 27km mark of the Trakia motorway towards Sofia, Sofia regional police said.
He was at the scene to secure another broken-down car after an earlier minor crash.
Two people were injured, both in cars involved in the crash. An earlier police statement said three cars were involved.
At the 49km mark of the motorway towards Burgas, where another crash happened, traffic is temporarily using the slow lane and the overtaking lane is closed to traffic, the Road Infrastructure Agency said. Traffic police are directing vehicles.
