Bulgaria will hold 27 job fairs across the country in October. The first takes place in Petrich on October 6, starting at 10 a.m., according to a schedule posted on the Employment Agency's website.
Employers and job seekers will also meet face to face in Kardzhali, Plovdiv, Dolna Mitropolia, Krumovgrad, Sofia and other towns, where candidates can ask about openings in person.
Four fairs will target specific groups. Two are aimed at young people, one in Ruse on October 20 and one in Varna on October 28. Silistra will host a fair for people in disadvantaged situations on October 22, and at the end of the month Smolyan will look for workers in tourism, hotels and restaurants.
Employers reported 14% more job openings in August than in July. Most of the jobs were in education, manufacturing, public administration, trade and car repair, administrative and support services, hotels and restaurants, and transport, storage and postal services.
Registered unemployment stood at 5.47% at the end of August, with 155,007 people out of work across the country, the agency's latest figures show.
