The government has named Borislav Petrov and Milena Krastanova to the supervisory board of the National Social Security Institute (NOI), the cabinet press office said. Ministers made the decision at today's meeting.

Petrov is chief secretary of the Ministry of Health. Krastanova is deputy executive director of the National Revenue Agency. The cabinet removed Assoc. Prof. Dr Valentina Marinova and Boryana Zhilova from the board.

Under the law, the board has one representative from each nationally representative employers' organisation and trade union. It also has an equal number of members picked by the government. One of them must be a deputy executive director of the National Revenue Agency.

In June, the cabinet named labour and social policy minister Natalia Dimitrova Efremova, Ministry of Health chief secretary Georgi Vasilev Lipchev and Sonya Viktorova Krastanova-Bogdanova, head of the finance directorate at the Ministry of Education and Science, as members. In August, Assoc. Prof. Dr Valentina Marinova, who had been chief secretary of the Ministry of Health, took Lipchev's place.
