The government has given another €9.2m to the municipalities of Beloslav and Rodopi. A cabinet decree takes the money from the 2026 central budget spending.
Of this, €5.073m goes to Beloslav to cover the final payments for its new ferry. The ferry is due to start running by the end of 2026. It was launched in Beloslav at the end of September, at a ceremony attended by prime minister Rumen Radev.
The cabinet says residents need the ferry every day to reach doctors, government offices and social services. It also lets emergency crews arrive quickly after accidents and in other emergencies.
At the ceremony, Radev said the ferry links families, people, jobs and fates. He said it was built through steady work by the state, local authorities and Bulgarian business. "It is a bridge to the future for this region," the prime minister added.
Rodopi municipality will get €4.2m to rebuild the water network in the village of Brestovitsa. The money will pay to replace the whole village network, which is polluted with manganese. The aim is to give residents decent living conditions and good drinking water.
