The Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross has not recorded any incidents in the mountains in recent days. According to available information, meteorological conditions are currently favorable for hiking and outdoor activities.
The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology expects predominantly sunny weather in mountain regions. However, during the afternoon, cumulus clouds may develop over the massifs in Western Bulgaria, which could lead to localized, short-term showers. Currently, temperatures at the resorts are ranging between 8-10 degrees, with broken cloud cover. Winds will be light from the northeast, while in the highest parts of the ridges, the direction will be from the northwest. Forecasted maximum temperatures are around 22° at an altitude of 1200 meters and around 14° at 2000 meters.
MRS officials are issuing important recommendations to mountain visitors. They urge tourists to stick to established routes and avoid leaving marked trails, adding that it is essential to ensure their mobile phones are fully charged.
