Five people died and 43 were hurt in 30 crashes across Bulgaria over the past 24 hours, police say.
Sofia saw three serious and 24 minor crashes, leaving three people injured.
Since the start of September, Bulgaria has recorded 531 road accidents. They killed 31 people and injured 657.
Since the start of the year, the country has seen 5,023 crashes. They have killed 344 people and injured 6,234.
By comparison, 320 people died on the roads over the same period in 2025 — meaning this year's death toll is 24 higher.
