The Bulgarian National Bank Printing House will make the paper ballots and special paper rolls for the presidential election on 25 October 2026. The Central Election Commission (CEC) chose the company with 13 votes.
The contract has two parts: making and delivering the ballots, and making and delivering the rolls for voting machines. Each paper ballot will cost 0.14 euros excluding VAT. Yordan Vasilev from the CEC said this price is the same as they expected and matches the cost from the early parliamentary elections in April this year.
The second part of the deal covers 70,000 rolls. The printing house offered a price of 7.20 euros excluding VAT per roll. This price covers all costs for organizing, making, packing, and shipping. The cost matches what the commission predicted.
Vasilev said the company is ready to do both parts of the order. The company has already provided the required documents, technical details, a sample of the double-sided printing paper, reports from the Institute of Pulp and Paper, and two security sample envelopes.
The election commission also decided to write to the CEO of the Bulgarian National Bank Printing House to ask for the documents needed to sign the contract.
