Topolovgrad council has approved new rules for the town's history museum, replacing those in force since May 2019. From now on, fees and income from souvenir sales will go to the museum's own account, not the council's.
The draft was posted on the municipality's website before the meeting. The culture ministry has signed off on it.

The money will pay for running the museum and for better management of its cultural and historical heritage.
Thirteen councillors attended the meeting. Two items were added to the nine in the draft agenda: budget changes linked to municipal projects, and a one-off payment to help a person who needs medical treatment.
The council voted to pay a 2026 membership fee of €1,700 to the Svilengrad – Topolovgrad local action group. The vote was based on a letter from the group's chair, Nadya Georgieva Peeva, about a decision of its general assembly on 28 September. Councillor Plamen Minchev said there is no information or reporting on the group's work, and asked for a report at the next meeting.
Councillors also passed changes to the town's rules on public order, cleanliness, traffic safety, and fire and emergency safety. The changes bring them in line with a Council of Ministers decree of 2 October 2026 on the registration of personal electric vehicles in municipalities.
The council also decided to give common land, pastures and meadows from the municipal land fund to livestock farmers. It approved the 2026 analysis of the support children and pupils in the municipality need for personal development.
