The Haskovo Municipal Council has decided that the new multifunctional sports hall on "Panorama" Street will be named "Prodan Prodanov." The decision was made following a proposal by the "Judo and Ju-Jitsu Sports Club" Association in recognition of Prodan Prodanov's (1938–2020) significant contribution to the development of sports, judo, and physical education in the city. Prodanov, who was one of the founders of the Alpine Club in Haskovo, served as a coach for the national youth judo team.

The Specialized Hospital for Active Oncology Treatment (SBALO) will receive a capital increase of 460,000 euros. The proposal by Haskovo Mayor Stanislav Dechev aims to stabilize the medical facility's financial position. According to the financial report presented at the Municipal Council meeting in August, SBALO is the only one of the five municipal companies to have ended 2025 with a loss. The same session, attended by 37 registered municipal councilors, also approved Stanislav Dechev's report on the execution of the 2025 budget.

The Municipal Council approved Haskovo's budget framework for 2026, totaling 102,630,140 euros in both revenue and expenditure. The adoption of the budget, which was the main item on a 24-point agenda, passed with 29 votes "for," 5 votes "against," and 4 abstentions. The financial framework shows a 17 percent increase compared to last year's value in unified currency, representing a difference of 14,840,289 euros.

Planned expenditures for activities under municipal responsibility amount to 35,520,306 euros, while 67,109,834 euros have been allocated for state-delegated activities. During the debates, an allocation of 5,000 euros was approved for the repair of the concrete javelin throwing runway at the "Haskovo" stadium. However, councilors rejected a proposal to increase subsidies for the pensioners' association, diabetic clubs, and other organizations from 25,000 to 50,000 euros.

The Municipal Council also adopted Haskovo's tourism strategy and introduced amendments to the Ordinance on the Administration of Local Fees and Service Prices. Furthermore, Haskovo will support Stara Zagora's candidacy for European Capital of Culture by participating as a partner municipality.
