Updating the fleet of the Municipal Enterprise "Благоустрояване и озеленяване" with a new excavator and replacing the street lighting in the section between Svilengrad and the "Kap. Petko voyvoda" district are part of a series of ongoing activities within the municipality. Additionally, municipal funds were used to renovate the central square in the village of Momkovo, and Mayor Arch. Anastas Karchev inaugurated the renovated building of the "Hristo Botev" Primary School in the village of Levka, coinciding with the start of the new school year.
As part of the project "Increasing the readiness of Haskovo region for the prevention and management of disasters, fires, and emergencies," implemented under the "Human Resources Development" Program 2021–2027, the Svilengrad Municipality now possesses new specialized equipment for tackling fires, floods, and other emergency situations. The lead beneficiary of this project is the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" – Haskovo.
The new capabilities, consisting of a submersible pump and a motor pump, are intended for the use of first responder teams and the municipality's volunteer formation. The use of the submersible pump will be essential for draining terrain and cleaning sites during floods. For its part, the motor pump will allow for the rapid filling of water tanks and fire trucks, which is critical during fires in hard-to-reach areas or remote settlements.
The acquisition of this equipment improves the capacity for effective and rapid response by local volunteers and teams during crisis situations within the municipality. This is particularly important for strengthening their capabilities in areas where access for specialized machinery is often difficult.
