Inspectors from the tax agency NAP, police, the organised crime unit GDBOP and the customs agency checked 17 petrol stations in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse, Pleven, Haskovo and Pernik and found 7 violations, NAP said.
On Monday, the Interior Ministry said that checks at 16 petrol stations between 5 and 7 October had stopped the sale of more than 8,000 litres of poor-quality fuel.

The violations involve receipts, fiscal devices and fuel records. Inspectors from the Fiscal Control Directorate found them, and the Inter-agency Coordination Centre coordinated the work.
In Karlovo and Haskovo, inspectors found a receipt that was not issued, and errors in recording and reporting fuel deliveries and storage. They found three violations there.
In Ruse and Byala, the cash in the till does not match the sums recorded on the fiscal device. Inspectors also found no special log for servicing the sales reporting system, and no gauge system to measure the fuel in stock.
Two checks, in Knezha and Koynare, found a total of three attempts to break the rules. The cash does not match the sums on the cash register, and the fiscal receipt lacks a required detail. At both sites, which use an electronic system with fiscal memory (ESFP), there is also no up-to-date calibration certificate for the tanks and their calibration tables.
NAP said it has asked the operators for more documents and will study the data in detail.
Earlier today, NAP also reported 16 violations at five well-known restaurants in Sofia, found in checks yesterday.
At its meeting today, the cabinet approved another €4m in spending for NAP and €22m for the customs agency from the Finance Ministry's budget. The money is for work that the government calls critical for the revenue and control tasks of the two agencies.
