Two masked men set fire to 11 Starlink antennas at a secret site near Sofia, Ivaylo Mirchev, co-chair of Yes, Bulgaria, said on Facebook.
SpaceX has 17 antennas at the site, and 11 of them were burned. Mirchev said the antennas carry the main link to Musk's satellites, which are widely used in the war in Ukraine.
Only days ago, at a meeting of the Consultative Council for National Security, the head of the State Agency for National Security (DANS) assured him that counterintelligence was working very actively against Russian-linked sabotage, Mirchev said. He said counterintelligence is clearly not doing its job well.
Mirchev and his colleague Bozhidar Bozhanov filed parliamentary questions to DANS and the Interior Ministry. They want to know whether partner services warned of the planned sabotage at this very site, whether Bulgarian services knew about it, and what steps were taken. They also ask whether the police cars that have been at the scene in recent hours arrived too late.
Mirchev and Bozhanov will give more information in parliament tomorrow.
