Town councillors in Ivaylovgrad will vote today on free lunches for 22 poor pupils and orphans at Hristo Botev secondary school this school year. Mayor Diana Ovcharova proposed the plan in a report submitted to the council.
The lunches would cover pupils from first to 12th grade. In the report, the mayor says the money is already in the budget.
The draft agenda has seven items. Besides the lunches, councillors will vote on a change to the 2026 list of capital spending projects and on a longer deadline to repay a short-term loan taken for projects. They will also decide whether to approve extra pay for the manager of the municipal company Armira – Ivaylovgrad.
The item on managing and disposing of municipal property has 23 sub-items. Through most of them, councillors will approve market valuations and decide on public sales of land plots and on leasing them out.
