Dimitrovgrad councillors vote today on three "Dimitrovgrad Talent" scholarships and one-off awards for 158 gifted children and young people, the draft agenda on the council's website shows.
The scholarships are for three students at the Ivan Vazov Natural Science and Mathematics High School who have proven achievements. Each will get a one-off €650. Awards are also planned for 158 outstanding students from schools in the municipality. The total is €22,523.
The agenda has 20 items, and many of them concern the disposal of municipal property. An addition to the 2026 programme for managing and disposing of municipal property includes plans to sell four properties.
Councillors must also discuss and vote on an analysis of the support that children and students in Dimitrovgrad municipality need for their personal development. Several changes to this year's budget are also due.
The Iskra 1926 chitalishte (community cultural centre) in the village of Kasnakovo has been put forward for the "Honorary Badge of Dimitrovgrad Municipality" to mark its 100th anniversary. Councillors first elect a temporary committee, which will decide by secret ballot whether to award the badge.
