The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defense are conducting inspections of ammunition and explosives warehouses and production facilities to ensure their security and implement new protective measures. As Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev explained, these steps are being taken due to a serious deficit of anti-drone systems at critical infrastructure sites. During a briefing at the Council of Ministers, held following a Security Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Rumen Radev, Demerdzhiev added that the Ministry of Interior is exploring funding opportunities through the "Frontex" agency and via the European Union, expressing confidence that such support will be obtained.
The government today officially reported the need for additional funding to purchase anti-drone systems, while simultaneously strengthening the security of facilities used for the production and storage of explosives and ammunition. Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov and Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev provided further details on these matters during the briefing.
According to information provided by Minister Stoyanov, the Ministry of Defense has submitted a report requesting targeted funding for the installation of video surveillance and modern security systems, as well as for the procurement of anti-drone systems. To combat drones more effectively, legislative changes have also been proposed, which are currently published for public consultation.

When asked about the exact amount of additional funding required, the Minister of Defense noted that calculations are still pending. He emphasized that although 80 million euros have been allocated for one of the SAFE projects, this amount is woefully insufficient to cover the needs of all strategic sites in the country.
