Insurance brokers sold €744m in premiums for Bulgaria-based insurers in the first half of 2026, 10% more than in the same period of 2025, data from the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) show.
A year earlier, premiums were about €675m (1.32bn leva), or around €70m less.
Motor third-party liability insurance, which covers the ownership and use of motor vehicles, brought in the most premium income: €265.6m over the six months.
Brokers' commissions at the end of June 2026 came to €150.3m. That is 12% more than a year earlier, when they were €134m (261.8m leva). On average, commissions made up 20.2% of premium income for the half-year.
The FSC data cover 344 insurance brokers registered by the end of June 2026. The figures are calculations by BTA based on this data.
