Plamen Paskov will run for president in the October 25 election. An initiative committee is putting him forward, with Svetozar Stoyanov Sayev as his running mate for vice-president.

Paskov works as a vet. The initiative committee describes him as a public figure and politician. He has run in past elections before as a civic-quota candidate, backed by several political parties, but has never been a party member himself.

He was born on September 12, 1965, in Dimitrovgrad. He graduated with honors from the Ivan Vazov science high school there in 1983. From 1985 to 1990 he studied veterinary medicine at the Higher Institute of Zootechnics and Veterinary Medicine, now Trakia University. He speaks Russian, English and French.
