A Sofia court will decide on the prosecution's appeal against Lena Borislavova's acquittal. At a hearing today, prosecutors asked the court to find her guilty, while her lawyers argued to keep the original ruling.

The Sofia District Court acquitted the former lawmaker on 18 November 2025. According to BTA, Borislavova is accused of using false private documents. The court says the acts took place in Sofia between 13 May 2021 and 14 May 2021. Prosecutors say she made it look like members of an association signed the documents when they did not.

The case is being heard under administrative rules. This means the court is looking at administrative liability rather than criminal charges. The original ruling was subject to both an appeal and a protest.
