Customs Agency director Nikolay Shushkov met EU enlargement commissioner Marta Kos at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing, the agency said on its Facebook page, as reported by BTA. The meeting came at the end of Kos's working visit to Bulgaria.

This story follows our earlier report on the international ministerial conference on Corridor 8 in Sofia, which Kos came to Bulgaria to attend.

They discussed infrastructure development in the Western Balkans, and the upgrade and expansion of crossings on the Turkish border, as freight and passenger traffic grows.

Kos was shown how the crossing works, including its control procedures, technical equipment and the gear that customs and border officers use every day.

The conference took place yesterday and was hosted by foreign minister Velislava Petrova. Kos also met prime minister Rumen Radev.
